Summer Activities of the Department of AM
On June 22, 23, and 24, the Department of Applied Mathematics joined the organization of summer practice for 5th–8th-grade students of Lyceum No. 169 in the metro school. Mykyta Hvozdiev, Senior Lecturer of the department, conducted masterclasses on pixel graphics, cryptography, and a mathematical quest. The students learned how a computer perceives images, discovered how to code graphics, mastered several encryption algorithms, and got acquainted with methods for quickly and efficiently finding optimal solutions.
The activities implemented Sustainable Development Goal 4 – Quality Education, by providing free access to high-quality mathematical training, particularly for school students from diverse social and educational backgrounds, creating an inclusive space for learning, self-realization, and development. This not only contributed to improving the participants’ academic results and mitigating learning losses but also gave them additional motivation to pursue higher education in the future.
