Open House Day at NURE: Getting to Know the University and the Active Participation of the AM Department

On April 5, Kharkiv National University of Radio Electronics opened its doors to future students. The event was highly successful, gathering about 200 prospective students eager to connect their future with modern technologies and relevant specialties.
At the beginning of the meeting, the guests were shown a film about the history and present of NURE. A special emphasis was placed on current educational programs and the development of artificial intelligence (AI) technologies. The organizers once again highlighted NURE’s status as one of the leading higher education institutions in Ukraine.

Visit of Students from Kupiansk District to Kharkiv National University of Radio Electronics

On March 27, students from Lyceums No. 1 and No. 3 of Kupiansk visited Kharkiv National University of Radio Electronics. The Department of Applied Mathematics participated in the event, during which Senior Lecturer Mykyta Hvozdiev conducted a business team game called “Fun Fishing”. During the event, the students learned about game theory, practiced making decisions under resource constraints, and mastered the selection of an appropriate strategy.
By implementing the principles of Sustainable Development Goal 4 – Quality Education, the university is forming an open and barrier-free educational space. This practical event served as a wonderful opportunity to support the students, help them adapt to difficult learning conditions, and demonstrate that applied science can be fascinating. This is an important step in overcoming learning losses and motivating future applicants to pursue higher education.

Career Guidance Events of the AM Department During Spring Break

On March 26, students of the “Obdarovanist” Lyceum visited the Kharkiv National University of Radio Electronics. The Department of Applied Mathematics took part in the event, during which Senior Lecturer Mykyta Hvozdiev conducted a business team game called “Fun Fishing”. During the event, students of grades 8–11 learned about game theory, practiced making decisions under resource constraints, and mastered the selection of an appropriate strategy.
On the same day, Senior Lecturer Ravil Yanbekov and Assistant Andrii Koshkin visited the students of School No. 124, whose classes are held in a specially equipped underground school in the Saltivskyi district. They conducted a mathematical master class, “Battle of the Fishermen,” for the schoolchildren. The format of the interactive game proved to be highly successful and aroused genuine interest, with most of the children eagerly engaging in the process as both active participants and attentive listeners.

XXX International Forum of Young Scientists «Radio Electronics and Youth in the XXI Century»

All-Ukrainian Competition of Student Scientific Works “Applied Mathematics and Mathematical Methods of System Analysis”

In December 2025, the Department of Applied Mathematics of the Kharkiv National University of Radio Electronics, in accordance with NURE Order No. 450 dated November 26, 2025, held the All-Ukrainian Competition of Student Scientific Works “Applied Mathematics and Mathematical Methods of System Analysis”. In total, 21 works were submitted to the competition by students representing leading higher education institutions of Ukraine:

- Donbas State Engineering Academy;
- Kyiv National Economic University named after Vadym Hetman;

Outstanding Awards and Recognition
Breakthrough Prize in Mathematics — the prestigious 2025 prize was awarded to the eminent mathematician Dennis Gaitsgory for his fundamental contributions to the Geometric Langlands Program, in particular for proving the Geometric Langlands Conjecture in characteristic zero.

Congratulations to the Masters of Specialty 124 System Analysis on the Successful Defense of Their Theses

On December 24 and 26, 2025, the Department of Applied Mathematics hosted the defense of Master’s qualification theses for students of Specialty 124 System Analysis, which was held in a remote format.
The Examination Board heard presentations covering a wide range of current topics. The Board members noted the thoroughness of the research, the Master’s students’ ability to apply modern system analysis methods to solve practical problems, and the high level of presentation of the results. All theses were successfully defended and received high marks.

On December 23 and 25, 2025, the Department of Applied Mathematics hosted the defense of Master’s qualification theses for students of Specialty 113 Applied Mathematics, which was held in a remote format.
The Examination Board heard presentations dedicated to current problems in the modeling of complex systems and the development of algorithmic solutions for various fields of science and technology. The Board members noted the high level of preparation of the Master’s students and the practical significance of the results obtained. All presented works were successfully defended and received high marks.

The Verkhovna Rada Adopts the Law “On Academic Integrity”

On December 18, 2025, the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine took a historic step for Ukrainian education and science by adopting Draft Law No. 10392 “On Academic Integrity” in its entirety.
For the first time, this document establishes a unified and comprehensive legislative framework for academic integrity within the education and science system.

NURE Acquaintance Day “NEXT GEN DAY: Your Route to the Profession of the Future”

On December 14, 2025, representatives of the Department of Applied Mathematics at NURE took part in the NURE Acquaintance Day event titled “NEXT GEN DAY: Your Route to the Profession of the Future”. The event gathered students from schools in the Shevchenkivskyi district and was dedicated to introducing schoolchildren to the educational opportunities offered by the university.
During the event, our lecturers, Vladyslav Parkhomenko and Mykyta Hvozdiev, conducted mathematical quests and quizzes. They presented the educational programs of the Department of Applied Mathematics, discussed prospects for professional development, and guided prospective students in choosing their future educational path.
